the other day

I was trying to show all the rolling Eva does but she got a hold of a purple stick and she wouldn't let go so she was having a hard time rolling. Bubba wanted the camera on him as you can tell.

Daniels Post

So for peopl who read this blog you know that I (Daniel) don't post very often. There won't be any entertaining pictures in this one (too much effort) but a few fun facts. We were eating french toast last night, I love breakfast for dinner, and I noticed that my 3 year old son takes 4 bites to eat one piece of french toast, that is because we slice his french toast into for peices, who used to dip them in syrup and eat each one a bite at a time. Now he shoves each piece in his mouth one at a time and it takes him about 20 seconds to chew it and get it all the way down. So it only takes him a little over a minute to eat one piece of french toast. Next time I am going to get his pieces in thirds to see if he can brake the minute mark. I am not force feeding my son he is just entertaining to watch. Another fun thing to do with him is to take him to a Mcdonalds play place. This is really entertaining. He does not care if it is too big for him or if he is going to get stuck in the tubes, which he does and then we hear this "Mamma Hyelp Hyelp" and after a while it stops and then we see him come out the slide ready to go back in. I just laugh but Miriam hits me and says "You are going in after him if he is stuck" Which I wouldn't mind doing. On this last visit it was hilarious. This particular play place had an area with landings that alternated that were about 2 feet apart in height from each other. Well he couldn't go in that way so he went in the tube way and was in there for like 10 minutes when we see him emerge on top of the landing area. He tries to climb down and lowers himself backwards over them (so his stomach is facing the landing and he is going backwards) well he couldn't see the landing he was trying to get to this way and when he lowered himself he was literally about ONE inch away from the other landing, but since his feet couldn't touch while he was still on the upper landing he started screaming "Mamma hyelp hyelp!" We told him to just do down he could make it. eventually when he realized we weren't coming he was able to shimy himself back on the upper landing and go back the way he came from. I thought this would deter him from trying to go back the landing way but this time he coaxed a girl that was in there to help him down. I don't know if he was dissapointed in us because we couldn't get him, but it was just funny to me to see his feet dangling one inch away from the landing and him calling for hyelp.

Resident Alien

I got my 10 year green card in the mail yesterday. I am very happy about it. That is finally all done. I can technically apply for citizenship this coming December 13th but I don't want to drop $1200 for it at the end of the year so I think I will wait a few years. I price goes up every year but I am hoping to be in better financial standing in a few years where dropping that much money wont hurt as much. So now I can travel to other places without any difficulty but I wont be traveling for awhile.

On a side note does anyone have any good ideas for brown bagging it. I have been researching money saving tips and apparently brown bagging it to work is one of the main ones people don't see. I was thinking about it and even if you only spent 5 dollars a day on lunch at work (most people spend a lot more than that at restuarants) you are spending $100 a month on just one person just for lunch. So there is a possibility for savings there. So any good ideas. I know if I do the same thing for even a week straight Daniel won't eat it and it will just be a waste of food and effort.
Thanks

Reading

Near the end of last year I made some hefty goals to read more books each month for the rest of my life. I was doing really well until my current book. I am reading Gone with the wind. I have been at it for 5 days now and I am just past pg 100 and there are 700 pages. I think I picked the wrong kind of book. I choose to read the copy I bought in England for 10p at a really old bookstore in Ely. It is the first impression in England so its quite old and it makes it difficult to read. Has anyone read this book? I have seen the movie several times and this is my first attempt at reading it. I think I need to have 2 or 3 books going at a time. It helps me keep focused. (as long as they are from completely different genres) I think I need a bookshelf to shelve all my books so I can look at the ones I have not read and be inspired to read them. I am trying not to do any rereads but I am addicted to the Twilights (lucky I don't own any of them yet or I would be in trouble) and I am tempted to read the Narnia's again (I do own those) those are quick reads though so maybe that will keep me motivated. We will see.

Oh here are some pictures from Bubba's little birthday party. Eva wanted to eat the cakes but all she got was wrapping paper and a sponge bob party hat.

Today in the Reeves in New Mexico Household

I decided to blog today. Once you let a good habit die it dies hard so I am going to try to blog more now that I have my computer again. Well yesterday we went to Peter Piper Pizza. It was fun. I forgot the camera so I tried to take pictures with my phone but I don't know how to transfer them onto the computer. Oh well. Oh but yesterday I got my perfect set of dishes. There is a story behind it so here it is.

Last year in Guam I bought some cheap sets of dishes from a girl who was moving from the Branch. I didn't like the dishes but we needed dishes so I got them and figured I would replace them with something I liked that would go with what I wanted for my kitchen. So we went to Kmart one of the many times that we did and I saw the PERFECT dishes. They were Martha Stewart and $60 for a set of 4. Well I figured Daniel could get me two sets for Mother's day which was coming up in a month or so. Two weeks before mother's day weekend I went to Kmart to make sure they were still there and they were and on SALE for $40 for a set for 4. When mother's day weekend rolled around we went to Kmart with the intention of buying them and they were ALL GONE. There were at least 15 sets up top the week before and I had noticed everytime I went to Kmart that no one had bought any and they were always all still there. Thus I was thoroughly disappointed. Daniel said we could buy another set whatever I wanted we could hop over to Macy's and see if they had some Martha Stewart I liked. So we did and nothing. I am glad now that I didn't buy those dishes because I would have had to give them away again and I don't like giving my perfect dishes away anymore. In the following weeks I would check the Ross to see if the dishes were discontinued and sent over there but they weren't.

Now we are back in the present time. Two days ago when my internet was finally up I went to craigslist and was looking for dressers and bookshelves and stuff like that and I found a seller who had brand new unopened dish sets. So I took a gander and voile there are two 4 person sets of my PERFECT plates that I didn't get in Guam. Totally unopened brandnew. She bought them (probably compulsively) and never even opened them. She wanted $20 a set OBO. I would usually say yes I will take them but dishes aren't really high on my priority list right now. So I went the OBO route and told her I would give her 25 for both sets and I would pick them up that night if she wanted. She actually said yes and I got my perfect dishes. I am so excited about them (dumb I know) but even the bowls are large and deep just like Daniel likes. Anyway that is my dish story for the day.

Here is a picture:

So I need not buy dishes ever again. Unless Bubba or Eva break them all. I think I should invest in some plastic ones for the kids to keep that from happening.

Here are some pictures of Eva from Sunday when Daniel and Alexander were taking afternoon naps and we were both bored waiting for them to get up.

P.S I finally have my murano back and the engine is now in place. I still need to get my break pads done, oil changed and tires rotated but that will have to wait until next week.
Random side not:

After I was done writing this post Bubba started crying because he was stuck, look what he got stuck in, as soon as the camera comes out he is all smiles. I promise he didn't break it Meleofa and you will get it back in tip top shape the next time we come up to Utah.

Happy Birthday Alexander

Alexander is three today. I feel so bad because he doesn't have any little friends here. Lucky for us he is only three so unless something traumatic happens he won't remember. We are taking him to peter piper pizza. I have never been there but daniel says its good. I am letting him do what he wants today so he has been eating valentine hearts all day from his Grandma Kathryn. He has wanted to watch movies all day. The three pictures are his different expressions today from watching Harry Potter.

His terrible threes have already started. This was two days ago. I was cleaning the living room and he thought this would be fun. Eva went along with it but then I heard her start to complain and I freaked out really badly because well just look at Eva it looks like he cut her face up and she was bleeding.

Nope just Daniel's expensive drawing marker things. Alexander was able to find the only markers in the house once again. At least it was not all over the walls. Just the kids and the tv.

Anyway happy birthday Alexander we love you.
