Mini photo shoot

The other day Daniel and I cleaned out his new office and tried to put some pictures on the walls. We did it for our date night (we have date nights now and they are FANTASTIC!) Anyway I love to organize and throw things away so it was a good time. Well all the photos I had didn't have Jamison in them! Thats how long ago I framed photos! When the kids woke up this morning I threw them into some colorful clothes and threw them outside and we took some photos. I wanted to share them with you so enjoy!

There were obviously way more but there you go! Having Alexander in school is SOOO great! He loves it. In fact last night when we were reading and saying prayers Alexander asked if he was going to school tomorrow (Saturday) and we said "no its a day off" and he started crying and was rather distraught. So we know he loves it. I love it too. Now for the in school projects and accomplishments! Today Daniel hung a fan and hung a bamboo shade on our bedroom door (the one that goes out to the patio) I made a deal with him yesterday. If he would hang the fan (which has been sitting in our bedroom since may) I would finish the cedar chest

this coming week (meaning finish stripping, sanding, painting, staining and polyurethaning the cedar chest I bought back in may!!!!) So now I have to do it and hopefully that will make me project productive. I am feeling inspired! Oh my GOODNESS I just looked and I bought the chest on March 29th!! AHHH That means it has taken me longer that the hutch to finish!!!

Easter 2011

I got the kids ready for church today and then asked Daniel to take some photos of them while I got ready. This is what we got. I heard a lot of "Sit down" "Look this way" EVA stop. They are funny. We had a lovely Easter and Daniel planted lots of flowers yesterday to prepare for this wonderful Holiday.

Last Week, sick and Jamison update

We apologize for the lack of posts last week but this house was under the sickness. This was one of those horrible you don't know what to do sicknesses. Eva started last Sunday night with weezing and having a hard time breathing and then coughing from her lungs and screaming in pain. This was for two nights and then just coughing and non appetite. I kept thinking about going to the ER when she couldn't breath but I worried I would be waiting there for 4 hours without being seen by a doctor and then going to a room finally and waiting another 2 hours then being told its not serious go home and I didn't really want to do that because that would make her worse. We called our nurse hotline and were told to use cool mist humidifier and tylenol and and honey she was able to sleep a bit that first night. It wasn't working that well so we bought a warm mist humidifier and ding ding ding that is what they needed. Then ALexander got it and he was screaming out in pain a lot and I was up all night worried they were not breathing so yeah it was a HORRIBLE week. They finally got better on Sunday night. Their coughs were hardly there. We went to the doctor yesterday for wellness visits and Eva is fine so yeah. I came out the worst during this because I was exhausted and cabin fever but I am feeling happy now that Alexander went to school yesterday and Eva is happy again. Luckily Jamison didn't get it at all!! Daniel started to get it but with forced sleep gatorade and orange juice he was able to stop it early.

This was Eva when we put her back in her room (she was in our room on her mattress on the floor for 3 days) we put a portable dvd player on the chair for entertainment.

This was the first morning Alexander started to feel sick (wednesday) He was SOOO happy because Eva was getting special treatment for being sick and he kept saying he was sick when he wasn't (he finally got sick and jumped in our bed (literally) but he wasn't too happy when the full sickness came and he couldn't breath and it felt like his lungs were getting ripped to shreds.
Having two extremely sick kids and a 6 month old doesn't mix well with my ability to run back and forth. So in the mornings I would feed Jamison and stick him in my bed. Alexander loved having someone to talk to and Jamison loved being right next to Alexander. So I gave Jamison his blanky and he kept falling asleep (Jamison loves our bed and he LOVES LOVES LOVES his blanky, falling asleep not in his bed is NOT normal for him) Here are some shots of Jamison through the week.

He has learned to sit up without falling over much (hence the pillows behind him)
He has learned that his thumb is a LOVELY thing to stick in his mouth
He has learned he loves Daddy . He loves sitting in his lap, looking at him, playing with him and smiling at him.
Oh and Jamison is now 6 months old! He is a healthy boy (I mean he didn't even get sick through all that!!)

He weighs 19lbs 8 ounces 90% for weigh
He is 27 inches tall 75% for height
and his head is still more than the 95th%

He now fully fits the 12 month old clothes some have extra foot room but I can barely zip his pjs at the chest and some clothes are just too tight at the chest. I think he has a very broad and large chest and shoulders. He is as cute as ever, there is this little book thing on the exersaucer (Meleofa's that we still haven't returned... sorry Meleofa we promise to bring it out next time we are in Utah!!) he likes to flip through it and look at the pictures!! Anyway he is ready for stage 2 solids! so any tips on how to make those from home would be great. I have never been big on the baby food jars but I can't remember how to do stage 2 foods. I think I need a blender.

So yeah not a good week but it made me really appreciate the healthy times no matter how messy :)

Nap time

Nap time is a glorious time in this household! I drop Alexander off at the bus then we come home and I put Eva and Jamison down for naps. Then I do whatever I want. I don't generally take naps anymore because there is too much to do around here and because if I do it takes forever to fall asleep at night. Anyway Alexander and Eva are sick today so I kept Alexander home from preschool. He has grown out of naps so when I told them it was night night time he ran upstairs as fast as he could and I heard running around up there. Eva and I came up the stairs and I found Alexander all ready for his nap:

He has grown out of the naps but Eva has to see him go down for a nap or she won't. So I usually let him out after I hear Eva has stopped talking unless he falls asleep. Today he planned ahead and took one of my old magazines and some scissors so he could practice cutting (we were practicing cutting this morning). He has to sleep in the guest room during naps because he and Eva empty the dressers and all the hanging clothes onto the floor and don't nap when I stick them together.

Seeing him get himself all ready for his "nap" time made me laugh so I took a picture.

Alexander's photography

As I have mentioned Alexander loves to take photos. Well here Is one I found on my phone the other morning. A confirmation to me that he is going to love his Christmas gift.

I have already started

Dressing them alike.

I bought these shirts at the beginning of the summer and well Jamison's is for a 6 month old so I figured it wouldn't fit until the spring. But it fit and Alexander recognized the shirt and wanted to wear his. I LOVE them!

Opposites

Sunday was our primary presentation. It was Alexander's first. We have a super huge primary so they needed to utilize two rows back and three across (4 small rows and two big ones) as well as the entire pulpit area and added chairs. All Alexander had to do was sit with his class on one of the front rows (not on the pulpit) we had two practices and he screamed and yelled when I tried to get him to sit with his class. All his class had to do was sing the Sunbeam song and sing along with all the other songs. Nope he wouldn't do any off it no bribe worked and lots of screaming. On Sunday I hoped things would go better. Nope. Here is what happened. He wanted to sit up there in the beginning of church (we got there early) but it wasn't time until after the sacraments so we waited.

He changed his mind yelled and screamed that he didn't want to go up there. Then Eva saw all the primary children going up there and started yelling and screaming also "I NEED TO GO UP I NEED TO GO UP" um yeah they are exactly opposite when it comes to shyness and their social skills. It was a great time [insert sarcasm]. I am not sure that Alexander will ever like those things. He just doesn't like change in any way shape or form. He thought is was time for primary during the practice time so he didn't like it and then he thought we were just going to church but he had to sit with his primary class and he didn't like it. Anyway that was our Sunday.

(I started writing this post on Sunday night and have been so occupied with children, cleaning and organizing and Dolce that I am just posting it now. WOW its been busy)

Just us

I figured I would just post some pictures. Daniel is very good about being with the children when he gets home from work. Alexander was telling him about his school day and Jamison was just enjoying his dad.

What a great Dad

I have been sooo busy with children and house and sleep that I haven't been on this computer since friday or so (I really can't remember) My memory is completely shot. I feel like I need a HUGE white board on the entire living room wall just so I can write down all the things I need to do and be able to do them. I just can't remember ANYTHING. I have been soo busy yet I haven't accomplished anything. Is that just another part of motherhood?

A recap of the last few days is: I went to the relief society broadcast! I actually went which I usually don't. I will usually just catch it online at my own convenience but a friend of mine in the ward told me they like to go together because its more fun so I went and it was fun. I left all the kids at home and Daniel did not have fun at all but I was very grateful for the uplifting messages and peacefulness.

Jamison and I went to church. I found this cute little vest and figured because he has no church clothes he can just wear his fancy vest over his solid colored sleepers and he will be in his best dressed :)
We got up at 7:30 and that in itself was very difficult for me. It took me all the way to church to actually be awake. I felt like a zombie all day long however the part that was great was that I wasn't stressed about our very energetic primary class. I was rather mellow because of exhaustion.

Thats about it. Jamison has been rather fussy doesn't like to be put down and there is no one else to hold him!! Well Daniel and he does when he is home so that is a nice break. I am VERY excited about this weekend and all the holders of babies that are coming!!

Oh on Thursday we bought a new couch. We had been looking for quite awhile and finally found IT! and we paid the extra $100 for 5 years of repair. I guess its like a warranty. I used to think warrantys were for suckers. I thought "Who in their right mind would puncture their couch" and then I had two year olds. They will probably be sorry they sold us the protection plan. It covers EVERYTHING. I remember when Alexander drew all over our brand new couchs in Guam. Yeah so wohoo.

Oh and Daniel was a great dad and made forts with them
The New sectional!! Red Leather seems to be our choice in couches.

So that is what we have been doing. Living is what it is called I guess.

P.S We have netflix and the Young Victoria plays instantly and we watched it and I LOVED IT. That's random but I rarely find movies that I absolutely love and actually recommend. Its the history that got me.

UofU UNM

Sorry it has been a few days since my last post. Daniel was using the camera for work and then I thought he still had it for days and he didn't so I should have posted forever ago.
We went to the game on Saturday night. That is probably the last night game we will go to for football. Lots of fighting and excitement there.

Ive never seen so much red in my life. I don't think the UNM team is ever going to be good.
This was Jamison's first game and he slept all the way through it.
This was the half time show. All the little boys teams got to play on the field. This made Alexander cry for a long time because he wanted to play. We told him he needed a helmet to play and he kept asking where his helmet was (he doesn't have one) so we were going to go get him one but he seems to have forgotten about it so far.

Eva and Alexander were energetic the entire time. After looking over these pictures I can see they have a lot of energy and I don't.

Yes that is Eva under the bleacher chair thing.
Yes that is Alexander laying on the bleacher
Here they are
Daniel really enjoyed the game we get to go to a Utah game or BYU game every year so its fun.

This week with us

I figured I needed to post because its been a few days so here are some pictures. This is what happened when the girls went grocery shopping. I took Eva with me and Daniel stayed home with the boys. I came home to a completely dark house and a British tv show on.(not typical Daniel) They had all fallen asleep.

Alexander holding Jamison right before they were off to church

Our friends the Bangerter's brought dinner over on Sunday. That was REALLY nice because I didn't have to do anything. Here are the kids watching UP for a little bit. I think Alena is adorable! And she makes them get along.

This was on Thursday before we had to go to Jamison's Doctor's appointment. Eva wanted to be in the pictures with Jamison

Oh and she kept telling me he was ticking her with his feet so I took a picture
Jamison is now a little over two weeks old. When we went to his 2 day appointment he was 7lb 11 ounces so still 6 ounces away from birth weight. Well when he was 12 days old we took him in for his 2 week appointment and he weighed 8lb 8 ounces so he gained quite a bit so his doctor says he is very healthy and gaining quickly so that is good. He is 22 inches now. He is getting some baby fat on him in his face now. We finally bought him a fluffy blanket and he LOVES it. He sleeps a little better through the night only waking up to eat then falls asleep again. My problem is unless I exhausted myself during the day I sit there awake for at least an hour even though I need the sleep badly. I guess I need to figure this thing out still with sleep.

Until next time.

Being a mother of 3

So far things have gone pretty smoothly as a mother of 3 with a lot of help. I'm tired and probably will be for a few more weeks or months. I love my kids. They test my patience a lot but then they do something sweet and I am able to function again. There is a learning curve with each additional child and I am slowly getting it. I must admit there is something that comes naturally for me with each child and that is taking pictures of them.

You know how people say you take hundreds of pictures of your first child and then none of the rest? That is not the case for me. I take many of all of them. I have hundreds of Alexander, and hundreds of Eva and I am building my collection of Jamison. I am guessing the digital camera is the reason for this. No more worrying about precious film just precious gigabytes (luckily we bought an external drive specifically for all the photo taking) Anyway I make sure to take a picture of Jamison everyday so people can see him grow (we are the only ones that get to see him be a fresh new born) I will share some pictures of him. He still looks pretty yellow to me
3 days ago, (His ears stick out in this picture)Also 3 days ago with some Daniel attitude
Here he is 2 days ago
Yesterday all awake
A few minutes ago
(I am trying to give him a sunbath/nap but the sun doesn't seem to want to cooperate)

I have learned that this:

will never go away and just grows and grows with each child. We are all doing well and trying to get into our routine. Here is a picture of Alexander. He is getting so bigHere is Eva, still gets into mischief 99% of the day. Dolce sits under her at dinner. I wonder why?
