Sledding

A few weeks ago it snowed (as it has been today) and we went sledding. The wind was FREEZING so we didn't stay long but the kids LOVED it.

This was Jamisons first meeting with snow. It snowed last year but he was inside sleeping when we went out. It has been snowing all day here. Luckily I have just been home with the kids. I don't like driving in snow especially with unplowed roads so we decided to take it easy today. Maybe tomorrow too depending on the weather and roads. We are just enjoying our time together making cookies and watching Christmas movies.

Candy Houses

I decided I wanted to try some ginger bread houses this year. Alexander went to a birthday party and they decorated houses and I thought it was cute. So I picked up a kit. I put the houses together on 3 hours of sleep and I don't recommend doing that. We waited a day and then decorated them for Family Home Evening. We also had Michael Buble over for FHE. Anyway Eva said this was her best family home evening EVER. I called them gingerbread houses but Alexander said they are candy houses. Here they are:

King Kong aka Jamison. He thought the whole thing was just a big buffet.

It was a lot of fun and I love how small the houses are.

I found it was more fun when I didn't care what they did and just let them be creative.

Snow Day

Its another snow day from school and this time I got a full nights sleep so the kids have been able to go out and play.

I have extremely mixed feelings about the snow. But I do love when they get to play in it 3 times a year. Later today if everything goes well we will make a snowman out front. We will see.

Letters to Santa

Alexander and Eva and completely different. Here is an example. We have been working on letters to Santa all month. Eva's list is a little different than Alexadners. This is her second more refined list.

This is Alexadner's original list and I added some things I heard him say over the last few weeks.

Anytime she sees anything she likes she wants it for christmas. Luckily she has a short memory. She also insists that I draw a picture next to the word to make sure I got it right. Alexander on the other hand doesn't seem to mind what he gets. I asked him the other day and he said he would like whatever Santa brings him.I really love all the aspects of the christmas season.

Lots of snow for New Mexico. School is cancelled and its only 930 am and I am tired tired tired. Here is off our balcony, I know not much to some people but considering we get snow about 2 times a year and its 1 inch or less its a lot.

Daniel has been out since I don't know what time. Hopefully he wont get sick. We are fine over here though just sitting around the house trying to get better

What the croup

Thats right I said croup. The little guy Jamison has it. He was breathing strangely on Friday morning so I made the decision to set up an appointment for later that day (I love my dr's office, they always have a pediatrician on call and you can get in that day NO MATTER WHAT if you baby is sick) I figured looking like a paranoid mother on a friday afternoon was better than having a baby that could barely breath all weekend and running to the urgent care or ER and waiting for hours to be told nothing was wrong and see the pediatrician on Monday. So I went in and was diagnosed with croup which she said isn't a specific disease its just the virus going around at the time. So he was put on a ventilator and given some strong meds and he is still healing but doing much better.

It is the saddest thing seeing a little baby struggle to breath. And he walks around saying mamma mmamammama and his voice is raspy so he is pretty much going to get away with anything until he is better.

Its been a LONG weekend what with the croup and snow (Daniel out pushing snowing really late to early) But the weekend is almost over and then it will be a new week.

Thats how our few days has been.
